Software need to be installed.
It is totally in a game environment Suitable for kindergarten to P3 pupils.
It works in the same environment as ‘CARNIVAL COUNTDOWN’.

The 5 games are :
1. Spinner Counting & number recognition. Game can be played by 2 pupils. Suitable for pair- work.
     Addition & subtraction in the advanced level.
2. Number express - train stations. Recognition of number; addition & subtraction up to 3digit number
    at the advanced level.
3. Gnu Ewe Boutique – Money concept. Buying and selling and giving out change.
    Confusion may arise because the softwareuses US currency.
4. 3-D Gallery - identifying 3D object from a set of 3D pictures
5. Aquarium - addition & subtraction with pictures.

Games environment and problem solving
Suitable for P3 to P5 level
The 4 Number heroes are :
1.    FractionMan - Help Fraction Man to launch firework using fraction. Identifying fraction at the
       beginner level, addition and subtraction at the  inttermediate level, multiplication and
       division of fraction at the advanced level.
2.    GeoComputer - Geometry – identifying properties of given figures leading to congruency,
       perimeter, parrellel line, perpendicular line, similarity and area.
3.    Probability - problems on probability, beginning with fractions; interpretation of graphs,
       percentages, fraction of a fraction at a higher level.
4.    Quizzo - Quiz format. Playing against the computer. Question are based on subtraction, addition,
        patterns, multiplication, division & analogies.

Children must be able to follow the voiced instruction. Therefore preferably 1 to 1 with headphone.

Disney Maths Quest with Aladdin
(theme follows closely to the show by the same name)

Please note that the program work in 8-bit colour setting. User may encounter problem in setting and
resetting the PC.
The program is suitable for P1 to P3. It is based on the story of Aladin and helping him to solve
problems thru’ situational learning.
There are several features on pattern & sets, single digit addition and subtraction, symetry,
barter trading, comparision – less or moreand several others to be explored.
 




Coco Maths Project 1
(Local Production)
Suitable for P3 & 4 . Interactive problem-solving in game environment.
Pupils should be able to follow voiced instruction. There could be problem in navigating the software
but do not be unduly worry as this is part of the problem solving for the kids.
Ideally, pupils should work in pairs or in small group to solve the problem.

There are several sub-programs.
A. Numbers

  1. Arrange the number
  2. Dizzy the dice.
  3. Pie factory – recognition of fractional parts.
  4. Match the toys- a game on pattern and set
  5. Add & subtract – arranging an expression in relation to a given sum.

Carmen Sandiego Math Detective - Broderbund - Hybrid

Work in 256 colours. Suitable for pupils from P3 to P6

It is a game software. Pupils have to role-played as a detective to track down stolen articles and
breaking secret codes. In the process, they have to solve maths problems. Children should love
the game but you need a minimum of at least an hour to complete the game. Teachers would find
it time-consuming to go through the whole program. This program should be treated as a challenge
for children to work on their own in navigating and solving the problem by themselves.
They should work in pairs or in small groups.
